Births, Deaths and Marriages

The Births, Deaths and Marriages unit operates within the Registrar-General's Office (RGO) and registers ACT births, deaths, marriages, adoptions and changes of name as events that occurred within the territory, as well as deaths that occur abroad under certain circumstances.

These records are highly confidential and are maintained in a secure environment. Access to these records is subject to an access policy, whereby access is restricted to those people who are considered to have an entitlement to access certain types of information.
